8 Months Old

Unbelievable...Josh is 8 months old today. It makes me so sad. Don't get me wrong because I love love love being a mom. I just don't want life to go by so fast! And this post also makes it #100 for posts. Crazy. And to think I had wanted to make this a food blog :) I guess God had other plans in mind (aka Josh!!!) So here we are, 100 posts later, and with an 8 month old. He brings us so much joy! His personality is coming out strong. He is a mama's boy. If I am in the room, he wants me and no one else (except daddy if he is around). But if it's night time and he's tired, "gimme my mama!" He loves to stand up and hold on to our ottoman. He is learning how to get up by himself but he does NOT want to be taken down from the ottoman. Or his crib rail for that matter. If we sit his pacifier at one end of the crib, he will cruise down the rail to get it. He loves loves loves to stand. He has no interest in crawling at this point. He literally starts crying about 3 seconds after I put him on his belly. But you pick him up and stand him up somewhere, he's happy as can be. He loves his food but he loves it pureed. He is just now learning to mash things. Every day he gets better at eating puffs. Just tonight, I think he put about 7 or 8 in his mouth all by himself (one at a time of course!) Some of his favorites are pears, raspberries and pears, apples and blueberries, squash, sweet potatoes, and green beans. When we go for walks, as soon as I put him in the stroller he is sitting up as far to the front as possible and starts kicking his legs with excitement. He loves the outdoors. He has said "dada" and "baba" and is starting to make an "m" sound. Some of his most chatty times are with other kids. He really loves to see other kids and talk to them (I think his favorites are Jace, Will, Lincoln, Molley, and Jackson). I think that's all for now. He went down tonight at 7:30. I am not expecting a great night. His right bottom tooth looks like it could come through at any minute. We were up at 12, 4 and 6:30 last night. But the night before he slept from 7 to 6:30!

Basketball season is in full swing and our first game is 2.5 weeks away. We have a really fun group of young men and I am excited to see what this season has in store.

Here is a video we took of him yesterday of him cruising in the crib.

A Birthday Girl and Some Cute Faces

This Saturday we had the joy to celebrate our niece, Elena Kate's birthday. She will be a year old on Tuesday (the same day Josh is 8 months old!). Can't believe it's been a year since we held you in the hospital, Elena! You are such a sweet girl and we can't wait to see what God has in store for you. She is already walking and climbing everywhere :) I hope she and Josh become playmates! Here she is enjoying her birthday cake. Isn't she just adorable?

They had a fun basketball bounce around in the back and we put Josh in it. He didn't know what to do with it except watch the other kids. I think he enjoyed sitting in there.

Here's the birthday girl.

Having a serious conversation.

Josh is really excited to have Elena come join him. He was babbling to her the whole time.

What an inquisitive face.

And here are the many faces of Josh.

Here is Elena's big sister Emery. She turned 3 in September. I just love her blue eyes!

And here is another cousin, Lilly. I think she looks just like her daddy Ryan (Jeff's brother). That may also be why I think she and Josh look a little bit alike.

Hope everyone has a great week!

The cutest pumpkin ever

Josh is just a ball of fun and laughter. He was giggling today at a small wooden cow on wheels that Maggie and Papa Jack had given him. And he loves this little car that we have (I call it the Jesus car because it has "Jesus" on the side and "Jesus Power" on the trunk). When you push them toward him, he thinks it is super funny.

He has been falling asleep on his side sometimes. I came in one afternoon to check on him and found him cuddling with his doggie.

I found this adorable hat and mittens at Meijer the other day. I think he looks so adorable :)

My friend Jennifer from work gave Josh his first pumpkin hat and bib. The hat however was too small for his 86% melon of a head. But I had fun wedging it on as far as it could go. It looks like a headband but it really is a hat.

And how can you not love a freshly cleaned naked baby??? After his baths, he LOVES to stand up by the couch or the ottoman for some play time.

Future best friends (Josh and Will) "fighting" over a toy. Already?!?!

And he loves the pumpkins outside our front door. This past Tuesday when my mom was watching him, I came home to find them sitting on this step and Josh holding his little pumpkin. It was so sweet!

And for one last picture, enjoy!

Also, please check out the link on my blog for The Heuer Group. Jeff played basketball with Eric and he and his wife Jen have 2 adorable little boys and are expecting a third baby this coming year. He and his brother Ian are in real estate and are excellent at what they do!

Have a great weekend!

Josh is doing something new it seems like every day. Recently, his favorite thing is to stand up in his crib and babble. He wants to do this before he goes to sleep AND when he wakes up. It is starting to make going to bed a little difficult. But it is oh so much fun! And he has started saying "b" sounds as you will see in this video. Enjoy.

First Family Fall Tradition!

Well today we went to the Campbell's Pumpkin Patch for the first time. We had a great time! Josh loved being outdoors. It looks like I had him dressed for a snowstorm :) But it was a bit chilly. After a little while though, it warmed up and I took his coat off (the hat was on just briefly). I bought Josh a pair of Jordan high tops yesterday. Aren't they sweet?! The doctor told us to put him in high tops so that his ankles can get stronger (he likes to stand on his toes instead of flat footed). What a great excuse to buy cute high tops! And they were on sale!

(uggh! I hate when the writing turns blue and I don't know how to fix it)...anyways...Here we are holding a baby pigmy goat. They were adorable! Only 2 weeks old. And it was so cute to watch them jump/hop around and make cute baby sounds. I definitely wasn't planning on holding them but the gentleman offered and I couldn't resist. Josh loved touching them and tried pulling his hair :)
Here he is with daddy looking at all of them.

We went with our good friends, the Tonagels, who went the first time when their son Jace was only 1 month old. Now it was Will's first time. And he loved it (as you can see from his sweet smile).

I love this picture of all three. I couldn't get them all to look at me at the same time but I still think it's pretty cute. Jace is busy looking at pumpkins. Will just wants to eat his clothes. And Josh is probably looking at daddy.

This might be my favorite of the whole trip. Josh is always so fascinated with whatever Jace is doing. He loves watching Jace!

Jace loves him some cookies!

Surprise! Maggie and Papa Jack showed up to see us!

Enjoying the hay ride.

Here's a video of the new thing Josh is doing. He is going from sitting up to on his belly.

7 Months

The pictures speak for themselves. I can't believe we are closer to a 1 year birthday party than we are his birth. :( He is so much fun right now. I just put him to bed and if I sit him up close to the side of the crib, he puts his hands on the rail and tries to pull himself up. He hasn't yet been able to sit up from laying down but as soon as that comes, I think we will be in trouble. So we will be lowering the mattress this week just in case. And speaking of just putting him to bed...we skipped his evening nap so I am praying he sleeps through it and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night. We'll see!

Blessed

I just need to say that I have the sweetest husband ever. He gave me breakfast in bed, flowers and dark chocolate. And he continues to show me how much he loves me daily! Even when I don't give him my best, he is always giving me his best. He is a wonderful father and husband. I am so blessed! Thank you Jeff for picking me!
