Tree Clarification

I guess I was a bit confusing with the bottle/tree thing :) Basically he only wants to take a bottle when he is distracted. And the tree is very distracting for him. So if he can look at and touch the tree, then he will take some of the bottle. Hope that helps!

Trying out my new camera

Well my old camera hasn't turned up :( I have called every place I have been to. I really really don't know what happened to it. So we went and bought a new camera. I really didn't want to have to buy another one but I don't think I could go the rest of Joshua's first year without anymore pictures! So my new camera...I LOVE it. Here are some pictures from this past week. Joshua turned 5 months old on Monday! Can't believe how fast time is going.

I can't wait to figure out how to do more things with my camera. But hope you like the pictures. There are a LOT of them :)

This is the tree that we get Joshua to take the most of a bottle from :) He has to be so close to the tree that he touches it. That is one of the only ways he will take anything from a bottle.

I set him up but as soon as I let him go, he did not want to sit up anymore. He wanted to get up and stop taking pictures.

Joshua has been eating cereal for a few weeks now and loves it. He also likes to eat butternut squash. It keeps him satisfied while I am at work when he won't take much from a bottle. But today he took quite a bit from a sippy cup! Praise the Lord!

He loves his Johnny Jumper and one of his favorite things to do is to talk to the frog or eat the flower.

It looks like he is really getting into it with the frog.

And in other news, Jeff's brother Nate and his wife Erica are going to be having a BOY! So Joshua will have another playmate! :) Can't wait!

Auntie came to visit!

This past week, my sister Natalie came to visit, or "Auntie" as she will be known to Josh. We had a GREAT time visiting! Josh sure loved his Auntie! He giggled and smiled at her all the time!

We were sad to see her go but we will be heading to California in September to visit her. Can't wait!

4 1/2 Months

We have had a fun couple of days/weeks! Jeff has been working hard around the house and helping me with Joshua. He redid our bathroom and I LOVE it! He is extremely talented. He laid ceramic tile and put in a new toilet and vanity. Thanks babe! I love it! Joshua is a ball of fun! He loves his daddy! And he is talking now more than ever. He loves to talk to daddy especially. Working is going well. I like being back to work. I would like it even more if Joshua would take a bottle well. I got a different nipple over the weekend and he has done better with it so far! So I am praying tomorrow that he will take it even better! My sister comes in tomorrow and hasn't seen Joshua since April. I am so excited to see her! Joshua will love his Auntie!

We had a great weekend with family. We spent Saturday with my family and Sunday with Jeff's. Lots of food, games, and time with the Josh's cousins.

I forgot my ENTIRE bag for the weekend so my mom and I ran to Meijer on Saturday morning to get the necessities. I bought this pink shirt (in the picture above) but didn't realize it had puffy sleeves until I had taken the tags off to wear it that day. I have to say, it's not going to be my favorite shirt! :)

4 Month Check Up

We went to the doctor today for Joshua's 4 month check up. He weighed in at 17 lbs 3.5 oz (83%) and at 26.5 inches (89%) and his head was 17 inches around (somewhere between 50 and 75%). He checked out just fine. Praise the Lord! He's such a great little baby! He's currently giggling at daddy!

Cute stuff

Not a whole lot of new stuff has been going on. Other than I think Josh is teething. He's been a bit more fussy, and is sucking on everything! And drooling and rubbing his cheek. Hopefully he sleeps well tonight. He has been sleeping from 9 to 7 the past couple nights. It has been great! And he has been giggling more! He has been giggling at Jeff which is so fun for me to see! I posted a video but please PLEASE ignore my annoying voice.

In other news, Jeff is redoing our bathroom. He is laying ceramic tile, a new toilet and a new vanity. I am so excited! :) I will post before and after pictures when it's all done (hopefully on Saturday). So now when I have to go to the bathroom, I go up to the school. Thank goodness we live close! :)

Happy Father's Day! (And 4 months!)

Happy Father's Day Jeff! And happy Father's Day to Papaw and Papa Jack! We are so blessed to have wonderful fathers!

I'm a day late in posting...Joshua was 4 months old yesterday (the 19th). He goes for his 4 month check up next week. So I'll have his "stats" next week. But we went up to the school tonight and weighed him. He weighed 17 lbs even! Last time we measured his length we got 26 inches. So we'll see how close we are next week! He is watching everything we are doing. He loves his mama. I must say it seems like I'm the only one that can calm him down if he's upset. He is putting everything into his mouth. He's wearing 6 month clothes. He's giggled just a couple times. And he hasn't rolled over yet. He's sleeping from about 8 to 5:45 (on a good night). On the days I have worked, he has woken up at 2:45am. I think he just needs another cuddle/feeding from his mama.

I started back to work this past week. I did fine. He didn't take a bottle! :( Thankfully I could come home at lunch and feed him but it's been hard for me to think of him not eating when I'm not around. We are trying the bottle every day (Jeff is) so that hopefully by the time I have to take him to Tracey's in August, he will be ready. He took a bottle from Jeff not too long ago but since I started working, it's a no go. So that's definitely a matter of prayer! Any suggestions? We are letting him play around with the bottle's nipple after he's done eating (when he's happy) to get him used to it.

And speaking of Jeff...He is a WONDERFUL father! He is always so willing to help out and do whatever is needed. I don't know how many times I find my dishwasher unloaded, clothes put away, and special home projects done (and many other things). And he loves being a father! He and Josh have some special moments together in the mornings. I love seeing him with Josh! Thanks for all you do, Jeff!
